A diverse upscale audience enjoyed this world class art show from March 2 - 5 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Besides the 50 galleries and more than 300 artists featured this year, there were a series of four conversations called Art Talks, which engaged the fair’s public in the issues behind the making, collecting, exhibiting and analyzing of modern and contemporary art from Latin America
The philanthropic element is always present, and this year it was manifested by a silent auction of important work by Venezuelan Master Carlos Cruz-Diez that benefitted Art In Public Places, an organization that serves the community through the implementation of art installations and educational programming dedicated to enriching the public environment and to preserving and enhancing the artistic and civic pride of Miami-Dade County.
Some of ArteAmericas 2012 sponsors and partners included American Airlines, Bacardi, FedEx, El Nuevo Herald, Miami Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and many other companies and organizations which understand that events like AA contribute to the positioning of Miami as an international destination for the arts.
