Luxury Lifestyle Showcase at Jade Ocean - July 2015

Since our first event for the residents of Jade Ocean back in 2013 things have changed, it is not the same. It Is actually getting more and more fabulous each time; this community really knows how to have a good time. On Friday, July 24 we had another opportunity to produce an event for them, bringing our Luxury Lifestyle Showcase event series to their home in Sunny Isles.
At the last event, we used the building’s driveway and lobby as a venue, this time we went back to the spectacular pool area overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Due to the 90% chances of rain forecasted that day, we had to play safe and set up all our luxury brand partners in the indoor restaurant area, right by the pool. Jade Ocean’s on point management and concierge teams, along with the president of the homeowners association, who are always involved in the logistics process of their events, had the vision to set up an outdoor bar using a tent as an extension of the indoor area, allowing guests to enjoy the outside space while having a safe option in case that it rained.
The result was another spectacular private social function where Jade Ocean residents enjoyed exquisite food, an endless flow of champagne, wine, whisky and great music. A selection of luxury brands from our portfolio of preferred partners showcased their products as the lifestyle showcase component that gives the name to our event series. Brands included Hublot, Adriana Hoyos, Lladro, Lou La Vie, Ferretti and Lalique.
The food was graciously provided by Corsair, Il Mulino New York and Ikra. The indoor bar poured fine wines including the new Italian Murano Wine, the award winning Notorious Pink rose, and Fat Trout Whisky. The outdoor champagne bar was fully branded by Veuve Cliquot, including umbrellas, pillows and champagne buckets.
The gift bags included items from our luxury brand partners and additional gifts from the Miami Institute for Age Management and Intervention and Kiehl’s Aventura.

Alain Godon: Around the World in Eighty Works

On February 12, our client Markowicz Fine Art hosted an event for the internationally renowned painter and sculptor Alain Godon, which they represent in the United States. Godon’s new exhibition, Around the World in Eighty Works, featured new sculptures from his Architectural series based on previous paintings of world-famous buildings from major cities around the world.

Godon began the architectural series in 2006, painting easily-recognizable scenes from major cities. His newest additions to the collection are sculptures depicting the landmarks in his paintings. His work has a unique style that captures every characterizing detail that embodies architectural structure.

Godon aims to create multiple structural points of view in his sculptures, creating a multi-faceted piece that impresses from every angle. The piece is then placed on a three-dimensional image to expose the landmark’s design elements.

To create the perfect atmosphere for the event, we worked with DJ Tavin Reiter who played contemporary lounge music as guests browsed Godon’s works. The bar, food and service was entrusted to Barok Catering, who served a selection of exquisite hors d’oeuvres, treating guests to delicious combinations of finger foods with an elegant presentation. The bar offered champagne, wine, and cocktails.

This event, the first fine art exhibition since Art Basel 2014, was held in the Miami Design District at Markowitz Fine Art Gallery's temporary location in the FAAM-Fine Arts Auction Miami gallery space at 80 NE 40th Street, Miami FL 33137. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 7 PM. For more information, call 305.308.6398.

Artist Connie McSilver's Sculpture Celebrates New Scholarship Fund Program for Students at FIU

The unveiling of  “Whoopie”, a 10 feet tall sculpture donated by renowned artist Connie McSilver to the Florida International University Paul L. Cejas School of Architecture Building’s courtyard, took place at an intimate outdoors ceremony on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 1:30pm. Some of attending guests included Dr. Mark B. Rosenberg - President of FIU, Janine King - Associate Professor and Department Chair, Adam Drisin - Associate Dean, College of Architecture, and a number of students who gathered to enjoy the new addition to the school’s landscape.

The affair celebrated the launching of a new scholarship fund which awards FIU interior architecture students who best integrate artwork and collections of art into their interior architecture designs. The Martin and Constance Silver Award was created to promote the integration of art in interior architecture, while learning focuses on understanding why and how to form a strong and creative relationship between the art pieces and the environment that houses them.

Artist Connie McSilver was selected to have her sculpture on display at the FIU’s School of Architecture Courtyard to inspire students. The artist’s unique style, which is influenced by her background as a psychoanalyst and social worker, provides a strong visual source of inspiration to contribute to the students’ own creativity development.

The private event was followed by a reception at the School of Architecture Building BEA Gallery, where the winning projects of the new scholarship award program, from the first semester, were on display. Topics included art integrated in hospitals, residential buildings, hospitality business, and sustainable environments, showing the level of creativity and advanced education that the students have.
