On July 23, the Design Center of the Americas (DCOTA) hosted a panel discussion on Design Influence on South Florida’s Hospitality Business, moderated by Drew Limsky, Editor in Chief of Modern Luxury Interiors. The discussion featured Adriana Hoyos of ADRIANA HOYOS FURNISHINGS, along with 1 Hotel and Homes’ Chief Marketing Officer Kane Sarhan, Paul Pebley the Director of Sales and Marketing at JW Marriott Marquis and Michael Wolk a famed hospitality interior designer.
The group of industry leaders shared their experiences and insights on hospitality projects, while discussing trends in the market, and answered questions from guests, resulting in an engaging and informative event. Some of the topics discussed included how hotel brands differentiate the market for various demographics such as Millennials, the influence of design in hospitality, the meaning of “lifestyle brand,” sustainability, and more.
For over 25 years, Adriana Hoyos, founder of Adriana Hoyos Furnishings and Adriana Hoyos Interiors, has worked on residential projects ranging from luxury high-rise apartments and single-family homes to hospitality projects. With more than 800 jobs completed worldwide, hospitality design has grown to be a specialty of Adriana Hoyos, creating signature spaces for well-known luxury brands, resort spas and boutique hotels in the United States, Bahamas, Mexico and Ecuador. The firm’s hospitality portfolio is as diverse as their services and includes Trump Hotels, Starwood Hotels, Swissotel, Marriott and Hilton, among others.
The panel discussion was followed by a reception at ADRIANA HOYOS FURNISHINGS’ showroom in DCOTA, where Innovations showcased its portfolio of spectacular wallpapers at their new shop within a shop concept.
